Svar:
You can upgrade on the go without a connection to iTunes, and while navigating. However, you need to have internet access to process the In App Purchase.
Since software version 2.0 (Premium or select), additional maps are available as a FreshMaps In-App Purchase only. You do not need to install the whole FreshMaps package. You are also able to install only specific maps on your iPhone.
