- I would like to change my device. Can I use the navigation software also on my new device?
You must distinguish different processes:
A: Same type of device.
You have used a certain type of device and you want to keep using the same type (e.g., you had a PDA before and will be using another PDA). In this case you can use the navigation software as long as the new device appears in the compatibility list.
Transfer content to another PDA
Please note that you have to delete content from an old PDA if you have transferred the content to another device. Read more about that in our terms and conditions.
If your device has been damaged and you want to use a new device of the same type and operating system, there is a possibility to transfer packages and content which you have already purchased to the new device. Please note that it is only possible to transfer the content if there is a device replacement and if you register the new device. Please contact our customer support and hold your registration details and also your old and your new device ID at hand.
Mobile Phones and Smartphones
With mobile phones and smartphones the re-use of your NAVIGON software is depending on the platform and the operating system. That means: After the change of different smartphone platforms, e.g. from an Android based phone to an iPhone, the NAVIGON software is not longer usable. Using od different platform (Windows Phone 7, iPhone, Android, etc.) means using different navigation software.
If you use an operating system of the same type and if you want to transfer content to another device within this system, then you have to use the same account you used for the purchase of the content (e.g. iTunes Store, Android Market). If you use an Android device or an iPhone, it is possible to install purchased content on up to 5 different devices at the same time. Please use the same account that you used for the purchase process.
Inn App Packages that you already bought can be transferred manually by our Service Center.
Using NAVIGON software on the same platform
Using the iPhone or the Android full version software you can use the NAVIGON software on up to 5 devices. Conditions and further information on how this procedure works can be found in the software description of the corresponding sales platform.
Some devices have to be registered. Please note that you need a new unlock code in case of a device change. See here what you have to note during the change of registration.
Due to the fact that your standard number has been already in use and registered for the device you used till now, a renewed registration is not possible. Please contact our customer service for new registration data.

B: Change in the type of device.
You have used a certain type of device. However, your new device corresponds to a different type (e.g. you change from PDA to mobile phone or from PNA to PDA or any other combination). In this case the software used up till now will not be operational on the new device.
