A real “Plus” for earlier models – an upgrade brings the NAVIGON 12 and 13 series right up to date
Owners of NAVIGON entry-level models can now upgrade their navigation devices to the NAVIGON 20 Plus. Alongside new features such as the “Active Lane Assistant” or the “One-Click Menu” the upgrade also includes up-to-date and expanded map material.
Hamburg, 25 January 2011 – Users can now upgrade their entry-level models and turn their NAVIGON 12 and 13 series devices into the NAVIGON 20 Plus. The new features bring with them the very latest in navigation, particularly when it comes to safety and comfort. “With this upgrade, our existing customers are swapping their ‘Easy’ version for the enhanced NAVIGON 20 Plus,” says Jörn Watzke, Executive vice-president of Product Line Management at NAVIGON. “This means that instead of the basic features they can use a whole range of expanded features of a device from the ‘Plus’ range.” Among these features are the “Active Lane Assistant”, the “One-Click Menu”, “NAVIGON MyBest POI” and pedestrian navigation. The included map update is doubly valuable: in addition to the latest data it will be expanded to include 44 countries.
Better orientation with the Active Lane Assistant
The Active Lane Assistant provides even better orientation in hectic traffic. A travelling animation shows drivers which lane they need to be in for the next manoeuvre. With NAVIGON “MyBest POI” users can set three preferred special destination categories. These POIs and the menu bar can be called up by clicking anywhere on the display thanks to the One-Click Menu. Since unnecessary information is automatically hidden, a larger section of the map can be displayed. With pedestrian navigation, users will also be able to find their way on foot. Devices in the 12 series will also benefit from NAVIGON MyRoutes, a feature already included in devices of the 13 series. This feature recommends the best route depending on personal driving style, the day of the week and the time of day. In addition, the navigation device suggests up to two alternative routes. To give users a taste of the NAVIGON Sightseeing-Features, little teasers of NAVIGON Sightseeing and NAVIGON Sightseeing-Tours are included in the upgrade.
The upgrade to the NAVIGON 20 Plus is now available for €49.95 from NAVIGON Fresh and the NAVIGON online shop. Furthermore, additional products already purchased, such as ADAC Camping or the Michelin Restaurant and Hotel Guide, can of course be downloaded again after the upgrade.
