In the know first – NAVIGON gives users the edge with enhanced destination information

Owners of the NAVIGON select Telekom Edition iPhone already know more than the rest before the journey has even begun. The enhanced destination information informs users about the weather prospects at their destination and attractive offers from selected companies. Users can then decide for themselves which information they would like to actively use. When selecting sponsor partners, NAVIGON works alongside NAVTEQ Media Solutions.

Hamburg, January 27 2011 – With NAVIGON select, users decide for themselves which additional packages they would like to use to extend their navigation device. That is also valid for the sponsored offers from NAVIGON partner companies, which can be seen in the enhanced destination information before the journey begins. This means that iPhone users know more about special POIs at the destination before they have even set off. Virtual offers with added value
“With the enhanced destination information, we are giving users a distinct edge in terms of knowledge,” says Gerhard Mayr, vice-president of Worldwide Mobile Phone Business at NAVIGON. “As with all other developments, the major focus here is on the product’s value for customers.” If the offer doesn’t interest users, they can skip the information and begin navigating, which then takes place as usual and will not be affected by special offers. “With the additional information provided by NAVTEQ Media Solutions, we are providing our customers with interesting local offers. They decide for themselves whether or not they would like to take advantage of them,” says Gerhard Mayr. “By intelligently integrating the services, we are offering our customers real added value without losing sight of the safety and quality aspects of the NAVIGON software.”
