The Device-ID is a code which comprises up to 37 characters (letters and numbers). It is calculated from the software and the hardware components on which the software is installed. The Device-ID is only required if software has been installed which needs to be activated (enabled) before it can be used.

When you start the software for the first time after installing it, the system goes through a short activation process. In the second step of this process the Device-ID is shown on the display. Make a note of the Device-ID. It is required for activation along with the serial number of the software. The individual steps required for activation are described in the activation process.
