You can receive a navigation software from NAVIGON together with a NAVIGON device, as a software included in a bundle together with a device supplied by another manufacturer (PDA or mobile phone) or as a software for particular devices supplied by other manufacturers.

If you purchased a NAVIGON device or the NAVIGON software was included in the purchase bundle together with a device supplied by a different manufacturer, then the software is optimized with the device it was sold with.

If you wish to purchase navigation software for a PDA or a mobile phone which you already own, please verify first that the software is compatible for the specific device. A compatibility list is available for every software. NAVIGON guarantees the optimal functionality of the software only for devices that are included in this list.

Some versions of the NAVIGON software have to be activated. This procedure is described in the handbook of the software and it is easy to perform. Normally, software included in NAVIGON devices do not have to be activated.

Every navigation software can only be operated with maps which are supplied in a specific format. When you purchase the software or a device from NAVIGON, the matching maps are going to be supplied together with the product. Map material for other countries or map updates are available through the NAVIGON's on-line shop. For NAVIGON devices which appeared since June 2007 on the market, you can subscribe to NAVIGON Freshmaps. This will assist you to keep your navigation maps up to date.

NAVIGON releases new updates for it's various versions of navigation software in regular intervals. The updates can be downloaded directly from NAVIGON's website. For many versions, the updates can be downloaded and installed almost automatically with NAVIGON Fresh.
