How do I check the GPS signal and the TMC information (PNA, PDA, MN6)?
Answer:

GPS

In the upper right corner of the display screen you see the GPS icon shown as an aerial symbol. Recognize the GPS status of your navigation system

a) by the existance of the aerial symbol and
b) by the colour of this symbol

Meaning:

▪     No GPS (no symbol)
The built-in GPS receiver is not ready for use.

▪     Not enough GPS reception (red symbol)
The data of less than three satellites is being picked-up.
      The position cannot be calculated

▪     GPS ready (white symbol)
The data of at least three satellites will be picked-up.
      The position can be calculated.

You find further information about the GPS status in the GPS status window.
To find it, click on "Options" - "GPS Status". Besides the information regarding the acutal position you also see how many satellites are being received at the time. In order to navigate at least 4 satellites are necessary, but, the more satellite reception for the tracking down your position, the better.

TMC

In the upper right corner of the display screen you see the TMC icon. It can show the following states of TMC reception:

▪     Transmitter is searched (red triangle)
The TMC receiver is ready to receipt, however, finds no transmitter
which sends out TMC signals. No traffic information.

▪     Transmitter is searched (white triangle, red exclamation point)
The TMC receiver is ready to receipt, however, finds no transmitter
which sends out TMC signals. However, there is traffic information.
This can be the case, e.g., if you go through a tunnel.

▪     TMC ready (white triangle, black exclamation point)
      Traffic information can be received.

Further information about the TMC status finds them in the window status TMC
To find it click on "Options" - "Traffic". Here you get an overview of the actual traffic information. By clicking on one of these options you receive more detailed information regarding the information being received. You are able to modify the displayed list by clicking on the big option bar at the top.
