From the sextant to satellite-supported navigation software: For centuries, technological developments have consistently lead mankind into the right direction. NAVIGON has been producing ground-breaking inventions for more than a decade: what the Falk Publishing company´s patent-folded city-map meant for pedestrians and motorists 50 years ago is nowadays achieved by our navigation solutions for mobile and automobile use. For these, we draw on the experience of Falk, the publishing house from which NAVIGON emerged in 1991.
NAVIGON has been in business successfully for more than 14 years as a manufacturer of mobile navigation solutions and as a supplier of driver assistance components for automobile companies. The company achieved pioneering work with the development of the world's first mobile GPS navigation system and continues to set high quality standards today with its products. NAVIGON is one of the leading companies in the mobile navigation sector internationally (according to CANALYS, 02/2005). The systems manufacturer, which has its head offices in Hamburg (Administration) and Wurzburg (Development) employs a total staff of 400. NAVIGON is also represented with a local sales organisation in 12 European countries, as well as the USA and Canada.

Mobility is the decisive factor in determining the success of telematics solutions both today and in future. The demand is not only for systems which are built into the vehicle, but also for portable systems which can be carried around freely by the user.
With the navigation software MobileNavigator installed on a Pocket PC (Personal Digital Assistant), a mobile phone, a PNA (Personal Navigation Assistant) or a notebook computer the user becomes independent of any single vehicle, and navigation becomes possible for pedestrians or for different cars. With perfect software for each of these fields of application, NAVIGON has established itself as reliable manufacturer of mobile telematics systems.
As system partner for the automobile industry and internet service providers we have the right degree of flexibility and efficiency: Our software architecture is constructed modularly. The "Mobility" business area develops and produces navigation software for mobile use for consumer and businesses, for example for telecommunication provider.
In the "Automotive" business segment, the company develops navigation software for the special requirements of the automobile industry's primary outfitting market, and driver assistance systems, for example anticipatory safety information systems.
