Hamburg, 4 March 2008 - Up-to-date map material is playing an increasingly important role in navigation devices. More than 1000 kilometers of infrastructure change every year in Europe. That includes among others several thousand miles of roads. That is all the more annoying when the navigation device displays a turning situation that in fact no longer exists. The solution to this problem is now offered by NAVIGON, with a service that is unique throughout the world: "NAVIGON FreshMaps". Every three months, the navigation expert now provides a full data package from the map professionals NAVTEQ, covering the whole of Europe, available for downloading. This update includes the full map content, with road data for new and altered roads, and including special destinations.

"Most users use their navigation device in the certainty that they will always get from A to B without problems", says Jörn Watzke, Vice President for Product Line Management at NAVIGON. "Many people do however forget that the precondition for perfect route planning is optimum map information. But with "NAVIGON FreshMaps", we inform the users immediately when up-to-date route information is available for downloading, and at the same time provide the opportunity to download it. This is not limited to roadblocks - we offer a complete update. Nothing could be more customer-friendly."

Via the free-of-charge download portal NAVIGON Fresh, the new maps are easily downloaded to the individual navigation device from the Internet. The program is available free of charge on the NAVIGON homepage www.navigon.com, and is installed on the PC with just a few clicks. In addition to the new service "NAVIGON FreshMaps", regular flash or software updates for NAVIGON products are also available.
The service, in which experts check every single change daily, costs 99 euro, paid as a one-off fee, covering 24 months. For the new NAVIGON 2110 max, the 24-month flat rate package is on offer on registration within 30 days of purchase for a total of 19.95 euro. For the NAVIGON 8110, for the first two years the service is even free of charge. NAVIGON FreshMaps can be used for the whole family of NAVIGON products.
